Kindergarteners Enjoy Spring PDF Print E-mail

A trip to a children’s museum, a breakfast with parents and a celebration of Earth Day are highlights of a busy spring at the Newberry Academy Kindergarten!

The 3, 4, and 5-year old students hosted over 60 parents and grandparents at a breakfast in April and shared favorite songs, their morning prayer and pledge.  It was a special day for everyone, and we were very proud of our students’ excellent manners.

The 5-year old classes visited the Children’s Museum of the Upstate in Greenville in May for great, hands-on fun.  The students learned about aerodynamics, health, engineering, recycling, lasers and much more.  They also enjoyed a picnic lunch and playtime at Cleveland Park, celebrating the hard work they’ve done this year.

Science Day was big hit as well.  Chad Wilbanks, a chemist, thrilled the Newberry Academy students with demonstrations of science principals. The students also celebrated Earth Day by conserving energy, being “litter-busters” and planting flowers.

As the school year winds down, the 3 and 4-year old students are finishing their special alphabet books, and the 5-year olds are proud of reading their word lists.  We are all looking forward to our music program and graduation and hope everyone has a great summer!
