Benji Sease

Benji Sease has been a member of the Newberry Academy faculty since August 2015, where he serves as the school’s Security Coordinator and teaches Physical Education and Weightlifting. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in History from Newberry College, earned in December 1994.
Before joining Newberry Academy, Mr. Sease dedicated 20 years to law enforcement, retiring as Police Chief after a distinguished career serving and protecting his community. His experience in leadership, discipline, and public service continues to influence his work with students, helping them develop responsibility, respect, and strong character.
Outside of school, Mr. Sease enjoys coaching football, watching sports, cooking, thrifting, and restoring tobacco pipes. He has been married to his wife Jodi for 28 years, and together they have three children—Dylan, Kadence, and Gaines—along with a son-in-law, Zachary Blasio.
Mr. Sease values the opportunity to mentor students both in the classroom and through athletics, encouraging them to stay active, work hard, and develop lifelong healthy habits.
