Lower School Music


Lower School Music is an engaging instrumental and vocal course designed to build confidence and creativity through a love of music. Students explore popular, jazz, and classical styles while learning to create, improvise, and compose using a variety of instruments. Through age-appropriate activities focused on listening, imitation, and exploration, students develop foundational musical skills in a fun and supportive environment. Assessment is based on class participation, skill check-ins, and performances, with occasional composition opportunities for extra credit.

 

Middle School Music


Middle School Music is a combined instrumental and vocal performance course that encourages students to grow in confidence and musical expression. Students study popular, jazz, and classical music while working toward creating, improvising, and composing their own music on a variety of instruments. Instruction emphasizes skill development through acculturation, imitation, and assimilation exercises appropriate to each level. Grades are based on class participation, pass-off quizzes, and performances, with composition assignments available for extra credit throughout the year.

 

High School Music


High School Music is a comprehensive instrumental and vocal performance course designed to foster confidence, creativity, and musical independence. Students engage with popular, jazz, and classical repertoire while developing skills in creating, improvising, and composing original music on a range of instruments. Coursework includes level-appropriate exercises that reinforce technique and introduce advanced musical concepts. Grading is based on participation, pass-off quizzes, and performances, with additional composition projects offered for extra credit.
