Learning Beyond the Classroom

Field trips are an essential part of our educational experience, giving students the opportunity to connect classroom learning with the real world in meaningful and memorable ways. From exploring history at Revolutionary War sites and museums to engaging with world cultures, religions, and the arts, each trip is thoughtfully designed to enhance academic understanding and spark curiosity. Students visit destinations such as historic landmarks, music and military museums, cultural and religious sites, science centers, farms, and performing arts venues. Throughout the year, students participate in thoughtfully planned excursions to places such as Roper Mountain Science Center and Wood Magic, where hands-on exploration and discovery bring learning to life. As students progress, they engage with history and culture through visits to historic sites and travel experiences, including Washington, DC, and The Basilica of Saint Peter. Lower school students enjoy hands-on, exploratory experiences, while middle and upper school students deepen their studies through curriculum-based travel. Experiences like attending The Nutcracker at the Koger Center, visiting Columbia Children’s Theatre, and exploring local and state museums are just a few of the opportunities offered throughout the year. We continually add new field trips to ensure our students are exposed to a wide range of experiences that broaden their knowledge, inspire creativity, and bring learning to life beyond the classroom.
