Kitty Mayor

Kitty Owens Mayer is the 1st-12th grade art teacher at Newberry Academy and is currently in her fifth year teaching art. She earned her Associates Degree in Occupational Technology with a concentration in Illustration from Piedmont Technical College and her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Anderson University. Passionate about teaching strong artistic foundations while inspiring confidence, curiosity, and joy in the creative process.She enjoys creating a classroom environment where creativity, learning, and fun go hand in hand. The Newberry Academy community feels like family to her, and she loves being actively involved in school life and activities. NA holds special meaning for her family—her husband, Scott, is an alumnus, and their children, Grace and Micah, both attend NA. Outside of the classroom, Kitty enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.
